Destin Gerek’s group coaching week 4 was on the Power of Presence. As I began exploring this concept of presence, I had a resistance come up, or a question. If I was feeling negative, uncomfortable feelings in my body what do I do? My “thinking mind” was wanting to run away from the feelings by going up into the head and telling myself stories to make myself feel better. I was confused with Abraham Hicks teachings that told me to direct your thoughts by reaching for better feeling thoughts. But practicing Presence made me feel MORE, if I was feeling anxiety I began feeling more intensely…and I was starting to feel uncomfortable about the intensity of these sensations… I could sense my desire to draw my awareness away from my body and up into my head. I was lost and didn’t know what to do. And then I found Michael Brown’s video “Love is to Evolve” and this led to me watching all his other videos and then I ended up getting his book The Presence Process. His teachings re-introduced to me to concepts that I’ve studied before through other teachers.

That is to simply sitting with our uncomfortable feelings and integrate it into our being. Consciously witness our fears, angers, griefs. And So I’m diving into the Presence Process and if your curious look up some of Michael Brown’s videos, they are nothing short of Profound. Here’s one.
“We are each endowed with the capacity to be responsible for the quality our experience. However, until consciously impacted with our compassionate awareness, our unintegrated fear, anger, and grief continues to function as the unconscious causal point of our outer disharmony, discomfort, disease, and delusion. By continuing to suppress and sedate our unintegrated emotional condition – and instead allowing ourselves to be emotionally carried and provoked by anyone or anything – we remain a species that is inauthentic, out of integrity, and lacking in the emotional capacity to intimately contain an awareness of what we are or what God is for us. Only by consciously developing our capacity to feel are we delivered beyond this predicament.” -from his website thepresenceportal.com
